FAQ

Let's be honest. No one asked us these questions. We just made a quick list of questions people may ask.

Who is behind this?

The idea was developed by Abhi M Balakrishnan

Can this prevent shoulder surfing?

Nope. This technique improves the privacy by blurring out text on the screen. People around you still can

  • Know what application you are using.
  • Get name and photo of the person you are chatting with.
  • See what are you typing.

Can I use this on my chat app?

The idea is pretty new and there are no applications out there providing this feature at the moment. You can help us spread the word though.

Is that okay if I incorporate Snow on to my application?

Please feel free to. This is a free and open source idea.

Where all Snow can be used?

Good question. Few thoughts that sparks into my mind are:

  • Your e-mail client can use Snow to blur out
    • email recepient lists
    • subject lines
    • user name
    • email addresses etc.
  • Your bank can use this to blur out balance information, user name etc.
  • If your application requires showing PII, Snow mode can help for sure.

Can I reprint your article on my blog or in a print magazine / newspaper?

Please feel free to.
